Benefit Commerce Group (BCG) was co-founded in 2009 by our current Managing Partner & Principal, Scott Wood. Until 2019, we focused solely on employee benefits consulting and brokerage services. Progressive and results-driven, our senior leadership team members who guided the rapid growth of our organization each have 30+ years of industry-leading experience.

We are a 4-time honoree on the Inc. 5000 among the fastest-growing private companies in America.

We are among the top 10 largest employee benefits consulting firms and insurance brokerages, as listed in the Phoenix Business Journal.

BCG’s business philosophy, and what made us successful, is to provide employers data-driven, sustainable strategies to lower health care costs without reducing employee benefits.

Our in-house actuarial and financial analysis team provides our clients with actionable data reporting.

We typically integrate meaningful employee health improvement and wellness programs to help employers develop and maintain benefit programs that attract and retain quality employees while controlling costs for the employer and employees and their families.

In 2019, we joined Alera Group, an independent national insurance and wealth services firm, offering comprehensive employee benefits, property and casualty insurance, retirement plan services and wealth services solutions to clients nationwide.  This was a strategic move for BCG to facilitate our continued growth.

Part of our growth has been to expand into additional business lines apart from employee benefits consulting. With a number of acquisitions through Alera Group since 2020, we have expanded our scope to include:

              Property & casualty insurance services in November 2021

              Retirement plan services in July 2022

In addition, we increased our locations and geographic scope within our employee benefits business line, adding:

  • Fall River Employee Benefits, in Denver, Colorado, in March 2020.
  • Cambridge Benefit Solutions, based in Chandler, AZ, in April 2020. (Cambridge rebranded to Benefit Commerce Group in July 2022 and is now referred to as BCG-Chandler.)
  • Fendley Benefits, based in Flagstaff, AZ, in September 2021. (Fendley Benefits rebranded to Benefit Commerce Group in February 2023 and is now referred to as BCG-Flagstaff.)
