Join the JDRF One Walk on April 29th
Our team is walking to end type 1 diabetes (T1D). There are several within the BCG family that are impacted directly from T1D, and we have seen what this disease can do to individuals and families.
When you have T1D, your body stops producing insulin—a hormone essential to turning food into energy. Managing the disease is a constant struggle that involves monitoring blood-sugar level, administering insulin, and carefully balancing these insulin doses with eating and activity just to stay alive.
Date: Saturday April 29th, 2023

Our Gift to Relieve Medical Debt
Benefit Commerce Group (BCG) is pleased to have made a special gift in honor of our clients.
BCG and our employees have chosen to make a donation to help pay off medical debt for 1,852 individuals and families in Maricopa County, Arizona, and 260 in Colorado, through our affiliate firm there.
These donations relieved over $2 million of medical debt: $1.8 million in Maricopa County and another $280,000 in Colorado.
We did this through RIP Medical Debt, an amazing non-profit organization that is able to leverage our contributions to wipe out $100 in debt for every dollar we donate.
They identify individuals and families with outstanding healthcare-related bills, and they purchase the debts for those most in need in bundled portfolios for a fraction of their face value. That is how one dollar donated relieves $100 of medical debt on average.
Founded by two former debt collectors, RIP Medical Debt has purchased and abolished more than $6 billion of oppressive medical debt, helping over 3.5 million individuals get out from under the burden of crushing medical debt. More than 60% of bankruptcies in our nation have medical debt as the root cause. In the spirit of giving, we believe this is a most appropriate way to honor both our clients and our community.

BCG Team Raises over $5,000 through Heart Walk
Our team is proud to have raised over $5,000 for the American Heart Association. The 2022 Phoenix Heart Walk on Saturday was a great way to connect with our teammates and families while doing something very worthwhile for our community!

Cancer Walk in Memory of Amy Klawitter
We formed a team in memory Amy Klawitter, our colleague and friend who we recently lost to cancer, for the American Cancer Society’s Climb to Conquer Cancer of Phoenix. The event was held on Saturday, February 26th, and we wanted to share with you a photo of some of those who walked with us.
THANK YOU SO MUCH TO ALL WHO PARTICIPATED OR DONATED!!
Amy was an extraordinary person—strong, energetic, determined, with a wonderful zest for life. For all who knew her, she was a vibrant force of nature and life. We want to remember her always, and we honored her memory through this walk for the American Cancer Society.
In addition to Amy, cancer has touched other family and friends of all of us. And we want to stop this disease in its tracks. This event honored Amy but also all the other lives lost to cancer. The purpose of the event also was to celebrate survivors and support the caregivers who so selflessly help others.
The money raised by our team helps the American Cancer Society in so many ways. It’s helping fund innovative research. It’s providing free information for people dealing with the disease. It’s providing rides to treatment and places to stay for people who have to seek treatment far from home. In short, our money is helping save lives.
We raised over $6,000 in just a few days.
