Challenge:
This 60-employee technology company that serves the construction industry was seeking benchmarking data to help them strategize on their benefits program. High deductibles and a double-digit rate increase on a medical plan being terminated the next year provided extra urgency. They also had an enrollment website that was rarely used by employees, which put added burden on the HR team.

Solution:

We offered an industry group health plan to decease their costs. We improved benefits for employees with a healthcare fund that pays the first $2,000 individual/$4,000 family when they use recommended top quality providers. We also built a new enrollment website in less than two weeks (over a holiday) and added a one-on-one benefits counselor to provide education and enrollment support for employees.

Impact:

Payroll deductions were reduced by 40% for employee-only and 30%-50% for family coverage. Employees also had lower out-of-pocket expenses due to the healthcare fund. For the HR team, benefit administration was streamlined, and the personal benefits counselors handled many questions that otherwise would have gone to HR.
